Chapter One

Chapter 1


Adam had been crying now for a staggering three hours and thirty seven minutes and if truth be known, he was getting really sick of it.

‘I’m telling you’, said JC waving a yellow, nicotined finger around the room and at no one in particular,
‘They are using a JCB to dig a tunnel under the Atlantic, surfacing in Hollywood and kidnapping certain movie stars and bringing them back to England…….

Chapter Three

Chapter 3


Adam is falling in a deep, still fathomless ocean. He sinks like a stone, deeper and deeper into an all enveloping blanket of ink. As the weight of water increases so the pressure mounts until all movement becomes impossible.

Chapter Four

Chapter 4


Adam lay there for how long he didn’t know. He slept and slept only to wake porpoise like from the depths of sleep. Sometimes, there was a cluster of concerned pink faces gathered around his bed, which Adam presumed were the same faces behind the screen. At other times, he was utterly alone in the blue swirling miasma. It was akin to having flu, Adam thought, aching all over, high temperature, cough but not so much as an aspirin to relieve the pain.

The beetle polished off the last of the crumb, wiped his mouth with the back of one of his hands and leant back against the bed frame. It had been some time since certain events had taken place and he had only now calmed down.

Adam woke from a fitful dream where someone had been playing a guitar at the end of his bed and every time he opened his eyes as if to say ’do you mind?’ the apparition vanished. He also dreamt he had murdered the Archbishop of Canterbury and buried him in his back garden and just as people were getting suspicious, he woke up.
